For immediate release:

On September 26, 2018, Citizens For A Better Arlington put out a flyer in support of the Term Limits position that’s been placed on the November ballot with the Arlington Republican Club’s name on it. This flyer referenced a poll of our membership from a previous meeting, which might be misconstrued as an endorsement of the Term Limits proposal.

The Arlington Republican Club was never asked and did not give Citizens For A Better Arlington, or anyone else, permission to use the club's name in a list of endorsements. Per our by-laws, The Arlington Republican Club does not take an official position on local issues and does not approve the polling of our members to be used by other political groups.

We call on Citizens For A Better Arlington to immediately cease using the Arlington Republican Club’s name and membership poll on any and all publications and any political advocacy. Furthermore, we ask that Citizens For A Better Arlington to issue a retraction for the flyers that were distributed.

ARC raises more funds for candidates than almost any other club PAC in Tarrant County. This year, the club distributed over 16k to local, state and country GOP candidates. We need to replenish our coffers for any last minute campaign needs and for future races. That is one of the many reasons we need your support for our October 5 fundraiser. Please attend and if you can not consider donating to the event. We are welcoming Paul Kessler, a Holocaust Survivor and US Congressman Louie Gohmert. The event will be held at Rolling Hills CC in Arlington. For ticket and/or RSVP info go to arlingtonrepublicanclub.com.

ARC members will be receiving a survey tomorrow asking for your opinion on two issues that will be discussed at our June 28: meeting: Changing the Arlington City Charter which will limit the terms of Mayor and City Council members and whether or not Texas should be a closed primary state. Please respond as the results will be published and sent to the appropriate officials. Our club makes a difference on many issues, so make your voice heard.
