Honored to join community leaders, military families, and distinguished airmen at today’s Holloman Air Force Base 49th Wing Change of Command Ceremony.

We thanked Col. John Ethridge and his family for their leadership and service to Team Holloman and wished Command Chief Master Sgt. William Ford well in his next assignment.

We also welcomed Col. Michael Mullin as the new 49th Wing commander and Chief Master Sgt. Scott Piper as the incoming command chief. Otero County is proud to welcome them to Alamogordo and looks forward to their leadership.

Today also marked Holloman’s transition from Air Education and Training Command (AETC) to Air Combat Command (ACC), further strengthening its role in our nation’s defense while continuing its vital training mission.

Best wishes to Col. Mullin, Chief Piper, and all of Team Holloman as they begin this new chapter.

Honored to return to my alma mater, Cloudcroft High School, to give the commencement address for the Class of 2026.

Growing up in a small mountain community shapes you in ways you don’t fully understand until later in life. The work ethic, resilience, perspective, and sense of community that come from rural America stay with you long after graduation.

Congratulations to the graduates of 2026. Your future is bigger than you realize, and this mountain has already given you a stronger foundation than most people will ever understand.

Today, on the National Day of Prayer, we pause to pray for our nation, our communities, and one another.

Pray for wisdom for our leaders.
Pray for strength for families.
Pray for protection for those who serve.
Pray for healing, unity, and hope across America.

No matter our challenges, prayer reminds us that faith is stronger than fear and hope is stronger than division.

The Supreme Court has restored Rep. Rebecca Dow to the GOP primary ballot.

The result is simple: thousands of voters now have their voice and their choice back in this race.

New Mexico Democrats’ attempt to remove a candidate over failures in the state’s own system has been rejected. Their push to sideline voters and cement control has failed.

Now the decision goes back where it belongs, to the voters.
