Purse Strings Network founder Kathy Minchew decided it was time to capitalize on her 30 years of industry experience doing business with the federal government. After a year owning her own business, Kathy found herself mentoring other women consultants and sharing the challenges she overcame that led to her now thriving consultancy business.
One day, while mentoring colleague Sharon Payne, Kathy discussed the idea of women having a regular forum to help one another grow their business. Soon after, a small group of women met for their very first breakfast meeting at the Silver Diner in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
Shortly thereafter, another colleague, Nikki Hughes, attended her first meeting. She was so impressed with the caliber of experience, camaraderie, and sharing that she and Kathy partnered to build the nationwide network so that they could help as many women business entrepreneurs as possible.
