Republican National Committee Members for Massachusetts Endorse Mike Minogue for Governor
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:BOSTON, MA – Janet Fogarty, Republican National Committeewoman for Massachusetts, and Brad Wyatt, Republican National Committeeman for Massachusetts, today endorsed Mike Minogue for Governor following his decisive victory at the Massachusetts Republican Party Convention.
They cited Mike Minogue’s commanding victory, earning 70.4% of the vote from the heavily attended Convention. This demonstrates strong support from delegates representing a cross section of both grassroots and moderate republicans.
"His message is resonating with both republican and unenrolled voters across the Commonwealth, Fogarty and Wyatt said in a joint statement. "He is organized, well-funded, and ready to defeat Governor Maura Healey this Fall.”Fogarty and Wyatt commended all three gubernatorial candidates running for the Party nomination and recognized Mike Keneally for running a solid statewide campaign. They further added that Minogue is the candidate best-positioned to deliver their collective message to Massachusetts voters of the failed policies of Governor Healey that have made Massachusetts unaffordable for many citizens.
“Defeating the one-party Democratic machine in Massachusetts requires unity behind our strongest candidate,” Fogarty and Wyatt added. “With nearly half of voters casting ballots early or by mail, and a late September 1st Primary creating a compressed general election timeline, Republicans cannot afford to lose momentum. An early endorsement gives our nominee the best possible head start to reach independent voters and offer Massachusetts a real alternative.”
As RNC members representing Massachusetts, Fogarty and Wyatt, have remained neutral throughout the convention process but made resources available to all candidates equally upon request. Their decision to break from past tradition of neutrality through the Primary is largely due to the resounding victory for Minogue. "Additionally, every Republican candidate with over 70% of the delegate vote has gone on to win the Republican Primary", Wyatt stated. "For this reason and the clear will of the Convention voters, our endorsement will allow us to focus on a coordinated campaign for our candidates up and down the ballot".
Fogarty added, “Mike Minogue has run a positive, forward-looking campaign focused on results and is best positioned to unify Republicans, appeal to independents, and lead the fight for accountability, reform, and principled leadership in Massachusetts.”
