📣 ANNOUNCING the premier event of our Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary Renewal Project
Sunday, September 27, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
Jeff Curtis, professional local Falconer, will host a Falconry experience that will excite and entertain as you learn about birds of prey. Jeff is renowned for providing a highly engaging and educational experience at Biltmore Estate as well as on his private property near Weaverville, NC.
The experience includes learning about the ancient sport of falconry, discovering how raptors are trained and handled, and an up-close and personal introduction to birds that Jeff has trained.
⭐️ Two types of experiences are available:
1️⃣ Handlers will have the opportunity for the birds to land on their gloved arm. Reservation donations are $200 per person. (Maximum of 20 spots available)
2️⃣ Observers will enjoy the entire presentation but will not have the birds flying to them. Reservation donations are $100 per person. (Maximum of 20 spots available)
Reservations will be available beginning Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m. via electronic payment only at Blue Ridge Audubon Chapter. All proceeds benefit the Renewal Project and are non-refundable. The address for Jeff’s property in the Weaverville area near Asheville will be sent, along with additional information, when your reservation is confirmed.
Jeff will generously donate 💯 of the proceeds to the Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary Renewal Project. The Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary Renewal Project is a multi-phase capital campaign to replace 500+ feet of boardwalk, resurface the visitor parking lot, install a security gate, and replace signage throughout the sanctuary.
