WE ARE MOVING!!! In partnership with RapidSOS and IamResponding (IAR), the Georgia TERT program will begin using the IAR platform for member management and alert notifications. If you are a current Georgia TERT member, please email myself or Amanda Maddox and provide us with your certifications. Unfortunately we are unable to access the old platform to retrieve those, so we are asking for your help with making this transition as smooth as possible.
If you would like to join GATERT, you may visit our website at gatert.org, or email me or Amanda for directions on how to become a member.

Georgia TERT arrived in Asheville, NC on Thursday, October 3, for a 14 day deployment to assist the Buncombe County 911 Center. The destruction of this town is overwhelming and unbelievably sad. We are working in conjunction with other TERT teams from Florida, Ohio, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Virginia. Please continue to keep the resident of Asheville in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the first responders that are working tirelessly to help them. ♥️🙏🏼

Many thanks to our agencies that sent members: Baldwin County 911, Cobb County 911, Glynn County 911, Henry County 911

Hurricane Helene is strengthening as it moves through the Gulf Coast. Helene is forecast to rapidly strengthen and could hit the Florida Big Bend on Thursday evening as a Category 4 storm, producing “catastrophic” winds of up to 156 mph. More than 40 million people in Florida, Georgia and Alabama are under hurricane and tropical storm warnings.

Members of the Georgia Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (GA-TERT) are hereby placed in “PRE-ALERT” status and should begin to consider their availability for possible deployment. In the event a request for assistance is received, we will quickly notify members and attempt to meet the needs of the request. This pre-alert status is for Georgia, not for out of state at this time.

It is imperative that all credentialed team members login to the GA TERT portal (www.gatert.org) to confirm the data in their profile, including contact and salary information. Members are also encouraged to view the pre-deployment checklist and familiarize themselves with the program guidelines.

As a reminder, all requests for a GA-TERT deployment must come through the Georgia Emergency Communications Authority at the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and be closely coordinated with local government and PSAPs.

Emergency Telecommunicators who wish to join the GA-TERT in anticipation of this storm should review the requirements and submit their application as soon as possible at https://gatert.org/join-georgia-tert/.
