Wild Fields Brewhouse is the kind of place where “let’s grab a drink” can easily turn into a whole family outing. 🍔🎮 Come for the food and local b**r, then stick around for the arcade games, pinball and plenty of room for kids and grown-ups to have a little fun. It’s casual, lively and very easy to make everyone in the group happy.

One of Atascadero’s best little surprises is how quickly downtown can turn into trail time. 🌿 Stadium Park sits right in town, but once you’re under the oaks and climbing into the hills, it feels like a full nature escape. Choose from two trail options totaling just under two miles, with routes ranging from an easy walk on Blue Oak Trail to a more challenging climb on Pine Mountain Trail. Hikers, joggers, mountain bikers, equestrians and leashed dogs are all welcome.

Labor Day weekend is coming up, which feels like the perfect excuse to slow things down in Atascadero. Sleep in, grab coffee downtown, browse a few local shops, linger over lunch, then spend the afternoon w**e tasting, walking around the Sunken Gardens or finding a shady spot to do absolutely nothing. No packed itinerary required. Just good food, easy plans and plenty of room to see where the weekend takes you.

Atascadero has the kind of downtown where a quick coffee stop somehow turns into an entire afternoon. Our town center puts local shops, art, restaurants, tasting rooms, patios, hotels, and the Sunken Gardens and Historic City Hall within an easy stroll. Follow whatever catches your eye, duck into a storefront you haven’t noticed before and see where the day takes you.

Axe throwing is only the beginning at the A-Town Chop Shop: Axe Throwing & Game Lounge. 🪓 This quirky Atascadero hangout also has knife throwing, a full game lounge and weekend karaoke. Between rounds, grab a local b**r or dirty soda, then look up and meet the giant smoke-breathing bull mounted on the wall. Yes, you read that correctly. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are a good idea when you’re bringing the whole crew.

Five local favorites worth exploring on your next Atascadero visit.

1️⃣ Kula Hawaiian Kitchen / Kula Vineyards & Winery
This incredible local w**ery also opened up a Hawaiian-inspired restaurant a few years ago, and it's now an Atascadero staple. Stop in for tastings or a full meal.

2️⃣ Atown Park
Drop in at the Central Coast’s only supervised indoor and outdoor skate and scooter park, with 15,000 square feet of ramps, rails and challenges for riders of all skill levels. Rentals are available, too.

3️⃣ The ARTery
This is the kind of really cool artsy business you'll want to spend way too long in. Browse fine art supplies, locally made gifts and gallery pieces at this family-run shop downtown.

4️⃣ Lebber's Pizza
Everyone is talking about this newer restaurant downtown with creative wood-fired pizzas, fresh ingredients and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. Come early for w**e and snacks, then stay when the pizza kitchen fires up.

5️⃣ Historic City Hall
Lastly, have you ever actually stepped inside our Historic City Hall building downtown? The architecture is just as stunning from the inside. You can just drop in and check it out Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., or you can book a free tour from the Historical Society.
