Bonner’s Bikes For Tykes began in 2011 with Ed Bonner (Buchanan GA), a group of generous friends & family & the goal of helping to share the true spirit of the holiday. He wanted to make Christmas morning a little brighter for children in need around Haralson County & the surrounding areas. Every year he, & now all of his elves, work tirelessly to collect monetary donations & donated bikes & get t
hem to kids. We work with DFCS, CASA, Toys For Tots & other local charities to make the dream of a new bike on Christmas morning a reality. (We serve children ages 5-12yo)
We average about 100-150 bikes per year!!
2020 was especially challenging with the pandemic & the loss of Ed’s sister, Monique, days before Christmas. Thanks to contributors in her name we were able to donate a bike to every young child in foster care in Haralson, Polk & Carroll Counties!
2021 posed a whole new set of problems-- supply chain shortages & rising prices limited the scope of our efforts, but we were still able to provide over 50 bikes to area kids!! WAYS TO HELP:
