I always appreciate the opportunity to engage with Sheriff Richardson and our law enforcement leaders.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Sheriff Sam Richardson hosted members of the Dorchester County Legislative Delegation for a roundtable discussion and presentation highlighting the work our deputies do each day to protect and serve the citizens of Dorchester County.

The discussion also focused on legislative solutions that can strengthen public safety and help safeguard the quality of life in our communities.

The House has finally adopted the Budget Conference Report, meaning SC officially has a state budget! The process was messy, drawn out, and neither chamber got exactly what they wanted. While I believe we could have done much more, this was a strict up-or-down vote with no amendments allowed. Ultimately, I voted YES because passing this budget is what's best for South Carolina.
