Residents are invited to join us Saturday, August 15th at 11:00 AM for a special Road Dedication Ceremony honoring State Representative Emeritus Roger Bruce.

Representative Bruce has dedicated decades to public service and to advocating for the people of South Fulton and our surrounding communities. This road dedication is a fitting and lasting tribute to a legacy of leadership, service, and commitment that has made a difference in the lives of so many.

🚨 **IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT — OLD NATIONAL PARK** 🚨

District 6 residents, please be aware of a temporary restriction at **Old National Park**.

Fulton County health officials have notified the City that **a batch of mosquitoes collected in the area of Old National Park has tested positive for West Nile Virus.**

⚠️ **OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED**

Out of an abundance of caution, **ALL outdoor practices, programs, and activities at Old National Park are suspended:**

📅 **Tuesday, August 11**
📅 **Wednesday, August 12**

This includes athletic practices, permitted activities, programs, and other organized outdoor activities scheduled at the park.

🦟 **WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?**

Fulton County health officials will be **treating the affected parcel**. The City is coordinating with the County and will reevaluate the temporary restriction following treatment and clearance from public health officials.

This is a **precautionary measure** being taken to protect residents and everyone who uses Old National Park.

In the meantime, please take normal mosquito precautions:

✔️ Use insect repellent outdoors
✔️ Remove standing water around your home
✔️ Wear long sleeves and pants when practical
✔️ Make sure window and door screens are secure
✔️ Be especially mindful of mosquito exposure around dawn and dusk

The City will provide additional information if the public health guidance or park restrictions change.

I’m here at World Changers Church International, and in just a little while we’ll kick off our annual National Night Out celebration at 6:00 PM!

This is a great opportunity to meet the dedicated men and women of our Police Department, enjoy fun activities for the entire family, connect with your neighbors, and celebrate what makes our community strong.

📚🍎 What a wonderful way to start the new school year! ✏️🎒

This morning, I had the pleasure of welcoming students back to Love T. Nolan Elementary School alongside our incredible City of South Fulton Fire Department, Fire Chief, several of our dedicated firefighters, and an amazing team from Microsoft.

There's nothing quite like seeing the excitement on the faces of students as they walk through the doors on the first day of school, ready for a brand-new year of learning and opportunity.

To help them get off to a great start, we were proud to provide backpacks and pencils for students. And because our teachers deserve to feel appreciated too, CEME Creations generously provided delicious cookies to help make their first day a little sweeter. 🍪❤️

It truly takes a village to invest in our children, and I am grateful to everyone who helped make this morning so special. Partnerships like these show what's possible when businesses, first responders, and community leaders come together for our students.

To all of our students: Dream big, work hard, be kind, and make this your best school year yet!

To our teachers, administrators, and school staff: Thank you for everything you do to educate, inspire, and care for our children every single day.

Councilwoman Natasha Williams-Brown has been selected as one of only 50 leaders chosen from applicants across Metro Atlanta's 11-county region to participate in the 2026 Atlanta Regional Commission Regional Leadership Institute.

The Regional Leadership Institute brings together accomplished leaders from government, business, and the nonprofit sector to strengthen regional collaboration and develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing metropolitan Atlanta.

"I am honored to represent the City of South Fulton and District 6 in this distinguished leadership program. I look forward to collaborating with exceptional leaders from across our region as we work together to build a stronger, more connected, and more prosperous Metro Atlanta."
