Yesterday’s evening DA Alisha A. Johnson dropped some REAL LIFE GEMS 💎 while speaking with members of the Y.I.E.L.D. Program:

🔐 Freedom is PRECIOUS.
🎯 Choices have CONSEQUENCES.
⏳ Your future is being shaped RIGHT NOW.

Not next year. Not when you graduate. RIGHT. NOW.

Every decision can move you closer to the life you want—or further away from it. Protect your freedom. Protect your future. And never underestimate the power of making the right choice. 💯

The future you is counting on the choices you make today. 👏🏾

⚖️ DID YOU KNOW?

An arrest does not mean a person has been found guilty, and an indictment is not a conviction.

It is the District Attorney’s Office’s responsibility to carefully review the facts and evidence in each case and determine whether the charges can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The District Attorney also has the authority to present felony cases to a grand jury. The grand jury reviews the evidence and determines whether there is probable cause to issue an indictment and allow the case to move forward.

Every defendant remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Justice begins with reviewing every case fairly, thoroughly and responsibly.

💬 Have a question about the judicial process? Drop it below, and District Attorney Alisha A. Johnson may answer it in an upcoming week!

We often see the title, the suit, and the courtroom—but there is so much more behind the role.

Behind every case is a person, a family, and a community seeking accountability and justice.

For over 30 years, Chief Assistant District Attorney Dabney Kentner has served the citizens of Rockdale County with experience, integrity, compassion, and sound judgment.

That’s the anatomy of a Chief Assistant District Attorney—justice from the inside out. ⚖️💙

💡 DID YOU KNOW?
A victim doesn’t actually decide whether criminal charges are dropped.

Once criminal charges are filed, the decision about whether a case moves forward is made by the prosecutor, not the victim.

While a victim’s wishes and concerns are important and are considered, prosecutors must also evaluate the evidence, applicable law, public safety, and whether the case can be proven in court.

⚖️ Our responsibility is to make decisions based on the facts, the law, and the interests of justice.

🍎📚 Welcome Back, Rockdale! ✏️💙

There’s just something special about the first day of school in Rockdale County.

This morning began at 7:30 a.m. with fresh air, bubbles, smiling faces, and the opportunity to greet students and parents as a proud PTO member. Watching our children walk confidently into their schools—ready for a brand-new year—was a reminder that every school year brings new opportunities, and endless possibilities.

As I transitioned from the school car line to the District Attorney’s Office, I couldn’t help but reflect on how fortunate we are to be part of a community that invests in its children.

To every student, teacher, administrator, support staff, and parent across the Rockdale County Public School System: Welcome back!

May this school year be filled with learning, growth, kindness, perseverance, and success.

Here’s to a safe, productive, and prosperous school year!
