Mentorship matters. And in CCSD, we believe it matters too much to be “just one more thing.” 💙
Employee Experience is our CCSD retention focus on the continuous quality improvement of school and district culture. One of the five cultural components of Employee Experience is Onboarding & Induction—and quality mentorship is a critical part of that work.
When mentorship is embedded into the culture rather than something we do simply out of compliance, we create stronger support for new educators, strengthen their connection to their school community, and help build the conditions for them to thrive and stay.
That’s why HR Recruitment & Retention was so excited to partner with our Academics & Accountability team to host our first-ever Professional Learning experience for lead mentors across CCSD! 🎉
We offered two half-day sessions so teacher leaders could choose the session that worked best for them. Together, we explored the why, the what, and the how of meaningful mentorship—all while staying focused on the most important “who” in this work: our students.
Because when we support the people who serve our students, we create the conditions for students to learn more, grow more, and achieve more here than they can anywhere else.
And we’re doing it with contagious joy and optimism! ✨
This is just the beginning. We’re grateful to partner with North GA RESA, who will help us continue the learning through quarterly virtual sessions for our lead mentors throughout the year.
We can’t wait to see the ripple effect of this work as these teacher leaders strengthen mentorship, develop new educators, and influence the legacy of leadership within their schools.
Mentorship is more than onboarding. It’s culture. It’s connection. It’s leadership. And ultimately, it’s about creating a better experience for the educators who make a difference for our kids every day.
