Join us on Saturday, September 19 for our 2026 Rivers Alive event! Gather friends and family and help us clean up lakes, rivers, and streams around Newton County. Keep Newton Beautiful will provide free cleanup supplies, breakfast, and t-shirts (while supplies last). We will meet cleanup participants at Longhorn Steakhouse of Covington for breakfast and supply distribution at 9 a.m. After breakfast, teams will head out to cleanup sites to pick up litter in and around waterways. 📢 Today are the first two of three public hearings being held concerning the 2026 Millage Rate prior to a vote of the Board of Commissioners, which will occur at the BOC Regular Meeting on August 4, at 7:00pm.

The proposed Millage Rate of 8.56 will fund the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget approved by the BOC on June 16, 2026.
