The weather was cold, but the event was a success! On December 3, the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain hosted their District Governor at a ribbon-cutting and celebration at the Clarkston Friendship Forest Story Walk.
Members of the Club, CDF Action, City of Clarkston staff, the Mayor, and other community partners attended the ceremony and read My Voice is a Trumpet, this month’s Story Walk book.
The Rotary Club of Stone Mountain is one of the original Story Walk partners, donating funds to launch the project and to purchase children’s books for the stands.
We were so pleased to receive a check for $600.00 on December 3. This will provide the 2025 funding needed to purchase children’s books selected from the Cox Campus, Liberty, and Justice for All curriculum.
Thank you, Rotarians!
Thanks to the City of Clarkston for funding and maintaining the stands, Patrick Kasele for preparing and changing the books, Maggie Deaton for the Parent Guides, and the many individuals and groups that have made the Story Walk possible.
We are excited to continue to support the Story Walk, promoting literacy, nature, and physical fitness.
