💜October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’re honoring it by showing up for survivors.💜

Our U-Visa Clinic brought together City of Atlanta Police Department officers and attorneys from Tahirih Justice Center, working side-by-side to connect immigrant survivors with the legal protection they deserve. ⚖️🤝

Through this clinic, we supported 4 domestic violence survivors on their path to safety and stability. 🙌✨

No one should face violence alone. If you or someone you know needs help, we are here. 📩

🇫🇷Mayor Andre Dickens recently welcomed Consul General of France Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau to City Hall as he begins his appointment to Atlanta.

Atlanta and France have a long-standing relationship, including a sister city relationship with Toulouse, France, and a sister airport agreement between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), signed in 2019.

We look forward to continued opportunities for collaboration with the Consulate General of France in Atlanta!

🎥🌟As we close out Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month, check out scenes from our Children’s Story Hour at the MLK Library Branch of Fulton County Library!

Hope-Hill Elementary students joined for storytelling and learning, hosted by the Consulado General de la República Argentina en Atlanta and Latinx storytellers representing 8 City of Atlanta Government departments.

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for sharing your culture, traditions, and lived experiences with everyone, and thank you to the team at the MLK Library for hosting us!

🇲🇽We were pleased to welcome 10 ESOL students from Midtown High School to our Mexican Independence Day celebration, hosted with the Consulado General de México en Atlanta last month.

Students participated in a tour of City Hall, attended the celebration, and met officials who were in attendance, including Consul of Mexico Rafael Laveaga!

We love hosting exposure opportunities for students to learn about local government and to see their culture reflected within their city!

Our sixth and final MyCity ATL session focused on Basic Entrepreneurship and was presented by the Urban League of Greater Atlanta!

MyCity ATL participants received information about how to start a business in Atlanta and had the opportunity to tour City Hall. Session 6 included participants from 10 countries.

MyCity ATL is a community engagement program that aims to empower our immigrant population to directly engage and interact with city services on topics that are important to New Americans.

MyCity ATL is made possible through partnership with Georgia State University’s Intensive English Program, which offers opportunities to English language learners to develop their English language skills and increase their professional workforce readiness.

🌱🐣Our bilingual Early Learning program, “Semillitas - Little Seedlings,” supports multilingual early learners ages 0-5 as they develop emergent literacy skills. So far this year, we’ve welcomed 114 early learners through this program!

🪁🤸‍♂️The “Semillitas - Little Seedlings” program encourages parents and caregivers to engage with their children, helping build a stable learning foundation and encouraging positive learning outcomes in the future.
