In partnership with Atlanta Tech Village, South Downtown - ATL, and Mays High School, we recently hosted our second ever Youth Founders Tour!

ESOL students from Mays High School participated in a field trip to Atlanta Tech Village’s Sylvan (Downtown) location and heard presentations from the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Global Opportunities Committee.

The Youth Founders Tour is intended to inspire youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship, building connections between students and Atlanta’s start-up ecosystem.

In partnership with gradute Social Work students at Georgia State University, this three-part series will help middle schoolers identify and celebrate their strengths while planning for their future.

⚽️We hosted our second Family Pick-Up Soccer event last month, in partnership with Sons of Pitches FC, the Friends of Sara J. González Memorial Park, the Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA at Buckhead, and Coco Chicas!

Players of all ages joined pick-up games, participated in drills with the YMCA, and enjoyed hot chocolate from the young entrepreneurs at Coco Chicas.

Our Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School Corporate Work Study intern Demi presented her Project CEO to our team this week!

During her time with our office, Demi supported logistics for one of our office’s welcoming events, completed research projects, and shadowed City of Atlanta departments like Atlanta311 and City of Atlanta Department of Public Works.

🌍🗣️We recently celebrated International Mother Language Day in partnership with City of Atlanta Government employees, the Consulado General del Perú en Atlanta, and Benteen Elementary School!

Multilingual leaders, representing Bangla, French, Haitian Kreyol, Igbo, Quechua, Spanish, and Yoruba, led interactive activities to teach students about the cultures and countries they are from.

🎶🪘Through singing, dancing, history, and heritage, 55 second-grade students learned about languages from around the world!

💛International Mother Language Day celebrates multilingualism and honors the importance of preserving our mother tongues as part of cultural identity.

MyCity ATL is back, and this year, we are partnering with The Intensive English Program at Georgia State University, which offers opportunities to English language learners to develop their English language skills and increase their professional workforce readiness.

Our first session focused on The Power of Volunteering, in partnership with YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, and 31 students from around the world participated!

MyCity ATL is a community engagement program that aim to empower our immigrant population to directly engage and interact with city services on topics that are important to New Americans.
