Cannabis use by high school students is at an all-time low…

“The new federal data, released on Monday, shows that 12.9 percent of high school students currently consume cannabis, which is defined as having used it at least once in the past 30 days. I feel this is a very important episode that everyone should listen to because it could be you or a loved one that is overcome by postpartum psychosis.

I know that psychosis is real because I’ve witnessed it numerous times.

Postpartum psychosis is a medical emergency. “And a medical emergency requires treatment, not shame.”

“You know, we should take a lesson from some other cultures for whom the women come together, the sisters help, the mothers help, the people in the community help, the village help, when the child comes into the village, you know, that takes a village to raise a child. We are the culture that thinks we are the only ones who should be responsible for the baby.

Yeah. And it wasn't always like that. I mean, industrialization, like the late 19th century, changed everything.

People moved to cities, they have smaller families, they're in the house, they're far from extended family. They don't know their neighbors.

So before that, women were...

Throughout human history.

Women gathered to help other women.”

I would add that men must step up, too, to help take care of their children and partners.

Paid parental leave would help facilitate caring for our families…as it does in every other developed country.
