Lakeside Middle

Lakeside Middle OFFICIAL page for Lakeside MS, located in Cumming, GA. Lakeside Middle School opened in 2009 with Ms. Debbie Sarver as the school’s first principal.

Approximately 730 students from Otwell, Riverwatch and South Forsyth middle schools joined to form this new school. Because of its close proximity to Lake Lanier, the school was named Lakeside. Lake Lanier is a reservoir that is named for poet Sidney Lanier. It was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1950s and is used for hydroelectricity, flood control, drinking water and recreational purposes.

FBLA at Lakeside is Back!

FBLA is FBLA is a career and technical student organization that inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders. Student compete in academic and skill-based competitions held at regional, state, and national levels. All students can compete - even 6th graders!

Citizen scientists in action! Eighth grade Nature Flex students collected data regarding the numbers and types of pollinators that visited the flowering plants garden adorning the entrance to our school. These counts are uploaded as part of the Great Pollinator Census of the southeast to assist researchers in evaluating the health of pollinators which are essential in healthy ecosystems and food production. Way to go, budding scientists amid buzzing insects!

The HOSA Informational Meetings on August 21 and August 28 are full.

Students who are interested in joining HOSA should:
1. See us at Club Fest (during school)
-Monday, August 31
-Tuesday, September 1

AND

2. Attend the Final HOSA Informational Meeting
-Wednesday, September 2
-During Flex

Students must attend an informational meeting to receive the HOSA membership application and other required materials.

Attendance is required to be eligible for HOSA membership.
