Today is often a complicated and emotional day at Angel’s House. For many of our girls, Mother’s Day carries a mixture of grief, love, longing, questions, memories, and hope. It is a day where we try to carefully balance supporting them through what was, what wasn’t, and sometimes what may never be, while also helping them look ahead to the women, mothers, and families they may one day become.
We remind our girls that their story is still being written. That healing is possible. That cycles can be broken. That love can look different than what they have experienced. And that their past does not get the final say over their future.
Today, our girls also chose to turn their emotions into kindness by spending time giving back and sharing love with the seniors at Brookdale Senior Living. What could have been a day centered only around pain became an opportunity to encourage others, build connection, and remind our girls that even in the middle of grief, they still have so much love to give.
We also celebrate the incredible mothers in our community: the women who show up, support, encourage, mentor, pray, donate, volunteer, and love our girls so well. Your kindness helps create safe places where healing can begin.
And a very special Happy Mother’s Day to our former residents who are now mothers themselves. Watching you pour out love to your children, build healthy homes, and break generational cycles is one of the greatest blessings and reminders of why this work matters so deeply. We are so proud of you. ❤️
