It’s time for today’s Friday Facts! Have you been keeping up with progress on Lake Erin Dam at Henderson Park?
We inherited deferred maintenance on the dam when the City assumed responsibility for stormwater. As the potential failure of the dam is a category one life safety concern, this project is a necessary one.
As with any project, there have been delays. Due to the years of deferred maintenance, much of the soil in the area was unusable and needed to be replaced. In addition, whenever it rains, the soil takes time to dry out. In the case of a consistently rainy summer like the one we’ve seen this year, that leaves little time in which all variables allow for work to continue.
You can learn more about how moisture impacts the dam construction process in our previous Lake Erin Dam Update in the July INTucker issue.
Weather pending, we have about a month left of work until Lake Erin Dam is complete.
That’s all for today’s Friday Facts. Have a great weekend, Tucker!
