Hey there Highspeed, slow down and let us introduce ourselves hero! We are the Auburn Military Veterans Foundation, or the AMVF (we like our full name but we all love a good acronym). We aren’t here to be a self-licking ice cream cone, we will ID problems facing our extended alumni veteran and military family and bring our people back into the green. So all you fobbits and geardos, grab your Green Bean and your woobies and follow the QR code to see how you can help us support our brothers and sisters. Don’t be a Lima7, see you there!
Tango Mike,
AMVF

The Auburn Military Veterans Foundation (AMVF) plays a critical role in support of the Auburn Military Veterans Community and their families, as they navigate the challenges of life during and after service. The organization looks forward to assisting those that have honorably served through targeted grant support initiatives, both need-based and merit-based.

In May 2021, VA started implementing provisions of the William M. Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (NDAA), adding bladder cancer, hypothyroidism and Parkinsonism to the list of medical conditions presumptively associated with exposure to Agent Orange. A few months later VA added asthma, rhinitis and sinusitis (to include rhinosinusitis) on a presumptive basis based on particulate matter exposures during military service in Southwest Asia and certain other areas.

Any Veteran who was previously denied service-connection for any of these six conditions but had symptoms manifest within 10 years of military service would need to file a supplemental claim. Be sure to use VA Form 20-0995, Decision Review Request: Supplemental Claim when filing. The claim form should include the name of the condition and specify that the condition is being claimed due to in-service exposure to environmental hazards.

VA is committed to assisting Veterans who may have been exposed to hazardous materials during their military service.

We would like to share a very important event for our amazing Auburn Student Veterans Association and University of Alabama Campus Veterans Association: Operation Iron Ruck.

Operation Iron Ruck is an incredible opportunity for these warriors to continue serving their brothers and sisters. These student veterans sacrifice their time on Thanksgiving and shoulder some pain to symbolically take it off of another who is struggling. 22lb ruck-sacks, 22 dog-tags, 151 miles, University of Alabama & Auburn University. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s Iron Ruck season!

If you want to support them, please go to ASVAstore.com and send a donation their way. They are a 501(c)3 and your donation is tax deductible. All proceeds go to support
