Today, we celebrate 250 years of the greatest experiment in self-government the world has ever known.

Our nation was founded on a revolutionary idea: that government derives its power from the people, not the other way around.

For two and a half centuries, generations of Americans have defended the principles of liberty, self-government, individual rights, and the belief that every citizen has a voice in shaping the future of their community.

At Aurora For Change, those same principles inspire our mission every day.

Our movement is not about political parties. It is not about division. It is about empowering citizens, encouraging civic participation, and ensuring that the voices of everyday people continue to matter.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let us remember that democracy is strongest when people choose to get involved, stand together as neighbors, and participate in the future of their communities.

Today, we honor those who built this nation, those who defended it, and those who continue to strengthen it through service, volunteerism, and civic engagement.

First and foremost, THANK YOU.

To every volunteer, every supporter, and every member of our community who took the time to circulate petitions, you have been the driving force behind this grassroots movement. Because of your hard work, thousands of conversations have taken place and countless Aurora residents have had the opportunity to make their voices heard.

As we move into the next phase of this effort, we’re beginning to collect completed petition packets from circulators throughout the community.

If you have petitions that are ready to be turned in, please reach out to us directly.

🚗 We’ll arrange a time and place to come pick them up, making the process as easy as possible for you.

If your petitions aren’t quite finished yet, that’s okay! Just let us know where you’re at so we can coordinate with you and help keep everything organized.

Once again, thank you to every single person who stepped up, knocked on doors, talked with neighbors, stood outside events, and dedicated your time to this effort.

🚨 WE’RE OUT IN THE COMMUNITY TODAY! 🚨

Aurora for Change volunteers will be out across Aurora all day meeting residents, answering questions, and continuing our grassroots effort to give the people a voice.

📍 Find us at the Aurora Farmers Market
🚪 Look for our teams throughout Aurora neighborhoods as we continue door knocking and community outreach.

🎉 We will also be attending the AAMOU Juneteenth Celebration, where we’ll be connecting with residents, celebrating community, and sharing information about our petition effort.

Most importantly, we want to say THANK YOU.
To everyone who has signed a petition, volunteered, shared our information, welcomed us into your neighborhoods, or simply taken the time to have a conversation with us — thank you.

Today and tomorrow, volunteers from Aurora for Change will be out across Aurora in both DuPage and Kane Counties collecting signatures and speaking directly with residents.

Our teams will be walking neighborhoods throughout the city, meeting voters where they live, answering questions, and continuing this grassroots effort one conversation at a time.
