Nine months ago when we started this campaign, I said I would do things differently. We would run a positive, honest campaign based on facts, with an emphasis on gratitude and appreciation. While the results were not what we expected, I'm happy that we did exactly that.

Congratulations to all of the winners last night and best wishes as we look forward to November. The Clerk's Office and its staff will always be very important to me.

I'm so grateful to all of you who went out in the heat, cold, snow, wind, and rain to knock on thousands of doors to collect signatures and to canvass; spent countless hours making phone calls; wrote postcards to family and friends; marched in parades; appeared in our ads; advocated for me; and provided moral support.

The group of amazing volunteers that came together for this campaign was incredible. I will always remember and appreciate everything that all of you did to share our vision for the Clerk's Office and our positive message. It reminds us that it is possible to do things the right way and run a campaign for which people can be proud.

I also want to thank you for the calls, messages, and words of support and comfort. Knowing how much this affects you reminds me how much we accomplished and will continue to do together.

Despite the results, so much good has been created from bringing us together. Meaningful change doesn't come easily, and it doesn't happen overnight. I was in this fight long before last summer, and I'll be around long after this. Hold your heads high, be proud of what we accomplished, and let's look forward to the next opportunities.

When I'm out talking to voters, I get a lot of questions about voting and elections. I wanted to answer a couple of the questions I'm often asked.

1. Can I still vote if I'm not registered (or I moved and need to update my registration)?

Yes, you can still vote (either vote early today or in Election Day tomorrow) if you are not registered to vote through Grace Period registration.

Check to see if you are registered to vote at https://clerk2.kanecountyil.gov/Elections/Pages/Voter-Search.aspx

If yes: Great. You can vote!

If no: You might not be registered, but you can register at vote at the same time. Bring 2 forms of ID, including 1 with your current address with you to register. Find a list of acceptable forms of ID at https://clerk2.kanecountyil.gov/Elections/Pages/Voter-Registration.aspx

2. Where can I vote on Election Day?

You can vote at ANY polling place in Kane County on Election Day!

Enter your address at https://votetimemgr.app/ to find the 5 voting sites closest to you (and the wait time at each site).

For a full list of all sites, visit https://clerk2.kanecountyil.gov/Elections/Pages/Election-Day-Voting.aspx

Voting is easy and convenient, so get out and vote early today until 4pm, or tomorrow from 6am-7pm.

Today would have been my mom's birthday. While the last few birthdays spent in the hospital and nursing home were a little more challenging, celebrating her birthday was a way to share the joy that she brought to all of our lives.

Whether you knew her as a friend, teacher, co-worker, volunteer, union member, activist, or "Brian's cool mom," she most likely had a positive impact on your life.

Recently, I was complimented by a colleague for the way I respectfully handled a stressful situation. My first response was "That is how my mother raised me." I'm blessed to have had such a wonderful role model in my life, and I'm proud to carry on the work that she started and reflect the values she instilled in me.

I can only imagine how much she will be having in heaven when we win on Tuesday night, telling everyone about her son, as she loved to do...

Happy Birthday, Mom ❤️

We have so many accomplished Democratic elected officials representing Kane County, and I'm honored to have the support of these leaders. I'm proud to have worked with them to pass legislation to expand voting rights and to make services more accessible to Kane County residents.

I appreciate the support of other County Clerks who do the job on a daily basis and believe that I'm qualified and ready to join them.

I'm grateful the support of my friends in organized labor who are on the front lines working hard for Kane County families.

As your next County Clerk, I'll continue to fight for you.
