Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute Founded in 1995, TCCRI advances conservative policy in Texas.

Inspired by the Texas Conservative Coalition (est. 1985), it has become a leading think tank shaping state policy through research, task forces, and summits that guide conservative leadership. TCCRI was founded in 1996 by a group of conservative leaders with a vision to implement conservative public policies in state government. The organization was inspired by the success of the Texas Conservative Coalition (the conservative caucus in the Texas Legislature) that has served as a resource for information and public policy strategies for Texas legislators since 1985. TCCRI has distinguished itself as a leading state-based think tank and has been very successful living up to its mission of shaping public policy through a principled approach to government. Its research reports and policy forums have been instrumental in generating proposals that are shaping Texas government and influencing a new generation of conservative leadership.

It is clear that government provides an enormous subsidy to postsecondary education that inflates its price beyond the reach of most families. Providing any more taxpayer money to the system should be rejected.

Ensuring accurate metrics, college readiness, and appropriate admission guidelines while eliminating DEI will build a more robust higher education system.

Observing the efficacy of current reforms on the electric grid before enacting new ones is the best approach the legislature can take for the moment.

Claims that data centers are extreme consumers of water are often exaggerated. In fact, they use water on par with most other industries, and far less golf than courses. TCCRI shows this in its latest testimony.

A closer look at water usage from data centers reveals their consumption to be comparable to other industries, and far lower than many sectors, such as swimming pools, avocado orchards and golf courses.

To place the patient back at the center of healthcare, free market values like price transparency, competition, and patient participation are key. Chairman James Frank demonstrates this in his op ed about the Select Committee on Health Care Affordability.

We have a health care system where insurance companies, drug companies, hospitals and other providers call the shots. Texans can design a better system, writes Rep. James B. Frank.

Last week, TCCRI concluded its first Energy & Infrastructure Task Force meeting chaired by Senator Phil King. Focused on Texas' energy needs as new data centers come online, it assembled stakeholders from state government to the private sector to discuss this important issue.

A spot-on commentary by US Rep. Nathaniel Moran. Unless acts, the US will lose the world’s development race, leaving US patients beholden to China for medicines. We can’t allow that.

The United States is increasingly reliant on China for pharmaceuticals, with the potential for the Chinese Communist Party to gain control of the global supply chain, posing a national security ris…

Decades of pushing the oil & gas industry out of California has left it vulnerable to Middle East disruptions. California could learn from Texas by working with energy producers to keep supply secure and affordable; policies TCCRI has long advocated.

California imports roughly 75% of its crude oil, almost one-third of which comes from the Middle East.

Reforming the federal 340B program would deliver for patients, but the onus is on Washington to restore accountability and protect patients, employers, and taxpayers alike.

In its latest white paper, TCCRI takes a deep dive into weather modification and urges policymakers to stand firm against any efforts to ban these technologies. Read the full white paper here.

In the 90th Legislative Session and beyond, Texas should stand firm against any ban on weather modification.
