Upcoming changes to CapMetro’s Route 2 starting 8/16

CapMetro August 2026 Service Change updates to Route 2 🚍

We are extending Route 2 along Springdale Rd between Oak Springs Rd and 7th St, filling a gap in service. This will make it easier to travel between East Austin neighborhoods, Eastside Bus Plaza and Downtown without extra transfers. It will also create more consistent, two-way service along the route.

Today was a powerful reflection of what community is all about in Precinct 1!
We had the privilege of joining our friends at KAZI 88.7 FM for the Raising Travis County Town Hall to engage directly with residents on key county initiatives. We also celebrated a monumental milestone at the Official Texas Historical Marker Dedication for the St. John Community, honoring the rich history and legacy of Central Texas. Finally, we wrapped up by joining the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area and the Austin Spurs for their Back to School Bash to help local students prepare for a successful academic year.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Together, we continue to invest in our history, our families, and our future!
