SpaceX posted its first earnings since the record IPO. Revenue hit $7.8 billion, up 92 percent, but the real story is AI: revenue there jumped 247 percent to $2.6 billion, already the second-largest business, driven by renting compute to rivals like Google and Anthropic, with $14.1 billion in signed contracts. The catch is the bill. AI capital spending was $15.8 billion, roughly six times AI revenue and 86 percent of all capex. The stock rose 9.4 percent on the growth, then reversed to a 6 percent drop once investors did the math. AI is hiding the failure.
