Birdville ISD Trustees appointed Tito Rodriguez to fill the unexpired term of Place 4 Trustee Matthew Womble at a special meeting on Monday, August 10. Womble recently resigned as a Trustee due to work obligations.

A longtime public servant and advocate for the Birdville ISD community, Rodriguez served on the North Richland Hills City Council from 2011-2025. He has also been actively involved with numerous community organizations, including the Northeast Richland Lions Club, Community Enrichment Center (CEC) and the North Tarrant Chamber of Commerce.

Rodriguez is also an active volunteer with BISD’s Clothes Connection, the BISD Refresh back-to-school event, and the BISD Education Partners for Impact Council (EPIC), while also serving as a student mentor and volunteer bilingual reader. From 2015 to 2017, Rodriguez served as Executive Director of the Birdville Education Foundation.

Recently, I visited Alliance For Children, Tarrant County’s Child Advocacy Center. I had the opportunity to meet with forensic interviewers, counselors, law enforcement, and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to see how they work together to protect children.
