Summer may be winding down, but we have one more night of live music to enjoy! Join us next Thursday, September 10, at Veterans’ Park for our final summer concert of the season, featuring ! 🎸

Think your house has the most spook-tacular Halloween style in Avon Lake? Prove it!

🦇 Deck out your home or yard with your creepiest, coolest, or most creative Halloween decorations, snap a photo, and send it our way for a chance to win a prize from one of our local businesses!

📸 HOW TO ENTER:
Email a photo of your decorated home or yard to [email protected].

Be sure to include your family name and address so residents can check out your ghoulish masterpiece before casting their vote!

🏀 JUNIOR SHOREGALS BASKETBALL 🏀

The Avon Lake Recreation Department is excited to introduce our NEW Junior Shoregals Basketball Program for the 2026–2027 season! 🎉

Designed for grades 3–9 this program is a great opportunity for players to develop their skills, compete, and have fun on the court!

🏀 WHAT’S INCLUDED
All participants will receive a branded reversible jersey and shorts.

📍 LOCATIONS
Games and practices may be held at the Anchor Recreational Facility or Avon Lake City School gyms.

⛹️‍♀️ PRACTICES
• Begin the week of November 16, 2026
• Grades 3–4: Practice once per week
• Grades 5–9: May practice up to twice per week, depending on gym availability
• Practices are typically Monday–Friday between 5:00–9:00 PM
• Practice days/times will be based on coach availability

🏆 GAMES
• Saturdays beginning December 5, 2026
• Regular season ends February 6, 2027
• Playoffs: February 13 & February 20, 2027
• Game times and locations will vary based on gym availability

🙋‍♀️ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Our programs depend on parent volunteers to serve as head or assistant coaches. No coaching experience is necessary! Training and resources will be provided to help with practice planning and team management.

If you’re interested in coaching, please select “Yes” when registering.

📅 Registration: September 1 – October 31
⏰ Late registration will be based on availability and may include a late fee.
