🚩 A Red Flag warning for high winds and low humidity with the passage of a dry cold front is in effect from 2PM-8PM tomorrow, August 1. This means that existing fires could experience rapid growth and all new starts could be hard to fight.

Please be cautious and avoid doing anything that could start a new fire during this time of critical fire weather!

Dry conditions persist in Baker County despite recent rainfall, with temperatures forecasted to reach upper 80s by July 4th, increasing fire danger. Fireworks are prohibited on national forest, BLM, and private forest lands.

Fire danger on private lands is increasing to high tomorrow. This means that no campfires or open burning (even with a permit) is no longer allowed on private lands in Baker.

As of Friday, June 19th, 2026 (6/19/26) at 12:00 a.m., the fire danger level will increase from MODERATE to HIGH.

All open burning is prohibited.

Within Halfway City Limits only a recreational burn pit is allowed. No Burn Barrels or Burn Piles. This as per their Burn Ordinance.

Outside of City Limits is All Burning prohibited Per Baker County Ordinance and ODF ruling.

Hot, dry, and windy weather is headed our way. It only takes one spark to put homes, livestock, land, and lives at risk.
We can all do our part to help protect our community:
🌲 Avoid parking on dry grass.
🚭 Never toss cigarette butts from vehicles.
🔥 Hold off on campfires if conditions are unsafe.
🚜 Check equipment, chains, and vehicles that could create sparks.
🎒 Have a family emergency plan and “go bag” ready just in case
Please stay aware, check on neighbors who may need help preparing, and keep an eye out for local fire updates and restrictions. Looking out for each other is one of the best ways we can stay safe.

Fire season has been declared on private lands in Baker County. That means no open burning without a permit. Campfires are still allowed.
