JOIN the Buy Local Challenge and eat or serve at least 1 thing from a local farmer each day during Buy Local Week, July 20 - 28, 2013. Institutions, businesses, organizations and employees, customers and community members are invited to participate.

Eating fresh, locally-produced foods is good for our health, good for the planet, and it supports our local farmers and our local economy. In Maryland, if every household purchased just $12 worth of farm products for eight weeks (basically the summer season), over $200 million would be put back into the pockets of our farmers. This helps to provide jobs to the people of Maryland since local farmers purchase feed and materials from local businesses reinvesting in the community. Benefits of buying local foods.
