Talk about fighting the establishment…Other politicians, lobbyists and unions accounted for at least $35,500 of the $40,900 raised by the incumbent in my race. I guess. I’m really out here like Shirley Chisholm … that’s why I’m so thankful for the 129 people who have already donated to this campaign.

I just want to thank the 130 people who have already donated to the campaign since December. All the politicians in the city told me that I was starting late, but because of y’all we made it up. . . we gotta start holding our politicians accountable too, because they also enable the lack of representation.

If you ever want to understand why our communities remain in the state that they are, pay attention to the money. Not just the city’s budgets, look at candidate’s finance reports. The establishment and incumbents are very committed to maintaining the status quo…even when they know it hasn’t worked. We filed our first campaign report to meet the second recording deadline (we hadn’t raised any money by the first reporting deadline because we had just started the campaign)

What I love most about this picture is what it represents. Within this single picture we have lawyers, entrepreneurs, social workers and others providing services to our communities. We have young people who are energized and committed to being a part of the change that can happen in the 9th District. We have this new energy, but we also have the support of those who are knocking for Sheila Dixon’s campaign who also support our work and what we represent. It’s the combination of old Baltimore and new Baltimore. It’s the potential. It’s what Baltimore has been and can be. Its time for a New Season in the 9th. We feel that same energy when we door knock, and when elected we will not disappoint or squander this energy! Vote July in May.

The excitement & energy I receive from the voters of the district when they realize they have the opportunity to have an elected representative that will be an active and vocal advocate fighting on their behalf makes the daily sacrifices of campaigning rain, snow, sleet or hail well worth it
