Friends of Old Otterbein Friends of Old Otterbein is a non-profit organization founded in the 1980s to support the historical The mission of the Friends of Old Otterbein, Inc.

is: (1) to raise funds for the preservation of the buildings and grounds of historic Old Otterbein Church and (2) to provide educational opportunities focusing on the historic significance of Old Otterbein Church and its role in the city of Baltimore since 1771.

Preparations for tree planting at October 30 celebration of Friends of Old Otterbein and Bishop Joseph Yeakel Society. Retired Bishop Peggy Johnson preaching at 10:30 am worship, followed by a reception before the tree planting at noon. ALL ARE WELCOME! Historic Old Otterbein is a Reconciling United Methodist Church, and since 1771 has continuously worshipped at and served from this site. This Sunday Rev. Bonnie McCubbin, the 55th pastor of Historic Old Otterbein, is front page news in the Baltimore Sun, highlighting her recent finds in the Baltimore Washington United Methodist archives, including Bishop Francis Asbury‘s last written words. Bishop Asbury and Bishop Philip William Otterbein were lifelong friends.
