Megann Eberhart for Barberton An experienced leader, Megann is a candidate for Ward 3 City Council, an open seat in 2026. She also was a Member-Board of Education (2012-2023).

As Candidate for 2023 Barberton Mayor she almost defeated the 12 yr incumbent, losing by less than 1%. -Resident of Barberton, Ohio over fifteen years.

-Married to Mike Eberhart, a former Akron Public Schools teacher

-Parent of three children, two current students and a graduate of Barberton City Schools

-Graduate of The University of Akron; BS Political Science and Public Policy Management

rofessional experience: Over 20 years of experience in working for the State of Ohio and leading non-profits and focused on economic/community development, and the arts. Currently serving the community as Bailiff in Barberton Municipal Court.

-Public service: Member of the Barberton Board of Education, first elected in 2011 and re-elected twice and served as President in 2017 and Vice President in 2014, 2015, 2016; Member of the Barberton Board of Health 2009 - 2011.

-Volunteer: Co-Chair of the 2020 Barberton Public Library Levy Campaign; former Board Member, Summit ArtSpace, Volunteer The Jacob Harasyn Feitchtner Fund

-Recognition: Leadership Akron Signature Program Graduate; Crain's Business 40 Under 40 in Northeast Ohio in 2012

Barberton Municipal Building Closed January 26, 2026

Due to the hazardous weather conditions and the Winter Storm Warning in effect, the Barberton Municipal Building will be closed on Monday, January 26th. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of City employees and the public.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Barberton Police, Fire, EMS, Street Department and Utilities Department, for their continued service and commitment to keeping our community safe and supported throughout the storm.

Stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another during this storm.

💜Tomorrow fellow residents of Barberton have the opportunity to vote and choose me to serve as the next Council President. The support, prayer, and positive interactions with the community over the last several months have been motivating me during the campaign. I sincerely hope people see my heart is purple because I love my community and want what is best. Every vote counts and we all know that too well from two years ago.
🇺🇸Voting is an ultimate freedom that citizens are given. As the daughter of an immigrant, one of my core memories was watching my Dad become a citizen and receiving that precious gift to vote.
