Update: July 30th- Summit County Search Team(s) will be in the northern part of Norton near Copley Twp limits assisting in the search for a missing Copley resident. Areas involved Loyal Oak, Reimer Rd, Hemphill, Medina Line Rd.

The Norton Police Department has recently received reports of mail being stolen from residential mailboxes during nighttime hours.

Our officers have increased residential patrols and are incorporating mailbox checks into the Routine to help deter criminal activity. We also need your help.

A few ways you can protect yourself:
- Retrieve your mail as soon as possible after delivery.
- Avoid leaving mail in your mailbox overnight.
- Keep your exterior lights on during the evening.

If you see suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhood, or if your security cameras capture anything that may assist our investigation, please contact our Dispatch Center at 330-825-2491 and ask to speak with an officer. Even small pieces of information can make a difference.

Working together, we can help keep Norton a safe place to live. Thank you for being our extra eyes and ears!

TRAINING NOTICE

If you notice an increased law enforcement presence at Norton High School today, there is no cause for alarm.

Members of the Metro SWAT Team, including officers from the Norton Police Department and Norton Fire Division who proudly serve on the regional team, will be conducting scheduled training exercises at the school throughout the day.

Residents may see police vehicles, officers in tactical gear, and other specialized equipment as training scenarios are conducted. These exercises are an essential part of ensuring our officers and regional partners remain prepared to respond effectively when our community needs them most.

Thank you for your patience and support as we continue investing in the training that helps keep Norton and our surrounding communities safe.
