Remember this is a level program budget - we've only asked the community to continue what we're doing, and the resulting 2.73% increase is under inflation. The district has done its best for our taxpayers, so let's do our best for our kids!

Last week, I was able to attend Open Town Meeting and witness the winner of this year's Wendall F. Pelkey Citizenship and Service Award. Bill Bugbee had given a lot to this community, but what stood out was his - and his wife, Pearl's - service in teaching. The impact these educators had was palpable: over and over individuals (now adults) stood to recount a time Bill and Pearl changed their lives. They spoke of learning, of community, and of the immeasurable impact achieved by these moments with a teacher who cares.

I was reminded that day that Barre is a town of its schools. Barre is a community of learning, and service, and we will always have gratitude for our educators and what they give to us all.

Thank you Bill, Pearl, and all those stewards of the next generation.

Due to renovations, Voting in Barre City will take place at Alumni Hall on May 12th from 7am- 7pm. On the second floor. For those unsure of where Alumni Hall is, it is the building adjacent to the Barre Municipal Auditorium.
⭐This building is equipped with an elevator for accessibility⭐
