This coming Saturday, September 21st, 2024, is Barre, Ma 250th Anniversary Committee parade and Fireworks. ‼️ Some important information we'd like to pass along ‼️

From 11:00am to approximately 3:00pm there will be ⛔️No Parking⛔️ allowed anywhere on Rte.122 (Summer St, Concert Mall, Pleasant St, West St), South St, Common St, School St. N, James St, Kendall St, Newton St, Grove St. N, Winter St, Broad St, Union St, Ruggles lane, Bently Rd, Mechanic St, Cat Alley, and High St. These temporary parking bans will be strictly enforced.

If attempting to travel through the center of Barre, please seek alternate routes, as travel during this time will be significantly delayed.

There will be shuttle buses running from parking at Felton Field, Nornay Park, the Senior Center and American Legion Post 2.

♿️Parking behind Fidelity bank is reserved for placarded handicap parking only (first come first serve). There will be handicap seating (drop off service no parking) by reservation at Woods Memorial Library. Please contact the library for information.♿️

Fireworks parking will be onsite at Stone Cow Brewery. No parking will be allowed along Rte 122.

We will be out in force and hope everyone enjoys the day safely!

Update for Hubbardston near Hale Rd:
It's now safe. The shelter in place is over.

Hubbardston MA residents: if you live within a half mile radius to 49 Hale Rd please shelter in place per Hubbardston Fire Dept. They will notify you when it's safe to leave the residence. (The fire dept is currently working a fire with a propane truck)

Also thanks to your family as well.

On Monday Feb. 20th, Chief Rogowski went on military leave from the Barre Fire Department as he is being deployed to Europe with his MA Army National Guard Unit in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce. Deputy Chief Scott Fritscher has assumed the role of acting Chief while Chief Rogowski is deployed.

Under Acting Chief Fritscher's command, the Department will continue to provide the high quality level of service that is expected by our community.

If you have ever wondered what it takes to become a firefighter, Barre Fire will be hosting several no commitment informational nights to go over what it takes and the requirement to become a Barre Firefighter. November's run totals. In addition to responding to 125 emergencies the Department completed fire education for all grades at Ruggles Lane Elementary School to include our annual fire truck ride to school fire education contest. A big thanks to SAFE coordinator FF/EMT Christina Gustafson for coordinating the Department SAFE program.
