On Memorial Day, we join communities across Vermont in remembrance of those who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Today is a time to reflect on the human cost of war and to honor the service members whose lives were cut short in the line of duty. We remember their sacrifice and the lasting impact on families and communities across our state and nation.

We hold close the Gold Star families who carry this loss every day. Their loved ones’ memory lives on through their strength and resilience, and they deserve our respect and support not only today, but all year long.

We also recognize that service continues. Members of the Vermont National Guard and Air National Guard are currently deployed, with families at home carrying added responsibilities and uncertainty.

On this day of remembrance, may we respond with reflection, humility, and gratitude for all who serve and all who bear the weight of that service.

The Washington County Democratic Committee invites you to come to Camp Meade in Middlesex on Saturday, May 30 from 12-3 to help to Paint the House Blue.

Enjoy food, drinks, music and a 50/50 raffle. Meet and talk to Democratic candidates from throughout Central Vermont.

Meet the Candidates at Barre Social Club

Wednesday April 29th come meet the Barre Town candidates for selectboard.

Wednesday May 6th come meet the Barre City candidates for Mayor and City Council.

Starting this week! All candidates and members of the public are welcome to join us for two Meet the Candidates Community Forums.

Participating candidates from Barre Town will be on hand from 6-7:30pm Wed. April 29, with participating Barre City candidates available 6-7:30 Wed. May 6.

Each event will include a facilitated Q&A as well as time to meet and greet the candidates. These community forums are free and open to the public.

Please note, though all candidates are invites, some may have conflicting schedules and may not be able to attend.

Election Day is Tue. May 12!

The clock is ticking on H.849!

H.849 is now on Governor Scott’s desk, and the window for him to take action is quickly closing. If signed, this bill would be a massive win for accountability by ensuring that everyone in Vermont—including federal agents—must answer for constitutional rights violations.

The Governor has only a few days to take action, and we are calling on him to let H.849 become law so that our constitutional protections are enforceable in our state. Tell him that every Vermonter deserves a path to justice and that he has the power to make that a reality by supporting this bill today.
