The 470 railroad club board of trustees has some exciting news and is listed below.

Want to join us in making a difference? The 470 Railroad Club has purchased the former Maine Central Business Car #333! This car, built by the Pullman Company in 1924, was the official business car of President E. Spencer Miller of the Maine Central Railroad. The car has the original mahogany woodwork, hardware, and original fittings such as beds, toilets, and full kitchen facilities. The layout has 4 private rooms for the officials of the railroad, meeting/dining room and observation room including a rear platform.
In storage at the Maine Central Waterville shops until being recently sold to the Hobo Railroad, Patriot Rail and most recently listed on Ozark Mountain auction site, the 470 decided to bid on this piece of history.
While in very good condition, it was decided to keep it here in New England and most of all, on former Maine Central rails. That being said, it is going to cost some money to make the final purchase and truck it over the road to the Conway Scenic Railroad where our equipment is kept. We need your help to make this happen! Donations made in the past to get the 1741 back into running condition proved very successful.
The plan is to restore this office car to the level shown in the picture, and will take work to achieve this goal to get it back to running on the Mountain Division again. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much too so many.
