If you have the time, please consider signing up to help out The Compassion Center so they can serve those most vulnerable in our community this week.

🚨 Warming Shelter Opening – URGENT HELP NEEDED 🚨

Due to incoming cold weather, The Compassion Center will be opening our Warming Shelter to ensure our neighbors experiencing homelessness have a safe, warm place to stay.

đź—“ Opening: Monday, March 16 at 10 AM
đź—“ Closing: Wednesday, March 18 at 10 AM
⏰ The shelter will remain open 24 hours a day

Our community is counting on us, and we urgently need compassionate volunteers to help keep the shelter running around the clock. If you have a heart to serve those experiencing homelessness, this is a meaningful opportunity to step in during a critical time.

To remain open, we must have Warming Shelter Monitors on site at all times, and overnight shifts are especially needed.
Your willingness to serve could truly save lives.

I hate that I missed the Cartersville Dances with the Stars last night, I was under the weather, but I’m so proud of our community’s support for Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter and Backpack Buddies .

Close to half a million dollars raised by this community to take care of our neighbors is just one of the many reasons I’m proud to be from Bartow!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success.

I’ll see you next year… as a supporter, not a dancer. 🤣

Thank you to our friends at Red Door Food Pantry for allowing our WRAP participants to earn some of their community service hours today by helping unload trucks and restock the pantry.

Working together with community partners like Red Door Food Pantry allows participants to complete those obligations now so they can enter the workforce ready to work without additional barriers.

Successful reentry takes collaboration. If an employer is choosing between two candidates and one has to miss work each week to complete community service, that can quickly become a disadvantage.

Special thanks to Red Door Food Pantry for their continued partnership and support!

I was honored to attend the 5th Annual Black History Parade in Cartersville this past weekend for the second year in a row.

Black Bartow Events did a fantastic job organizing the event. It was great to see so many families and members of our community come together to celebrate and share fellowship.

Thank you to everyone who put in the time and effort to make it happen!

My team and I had the privilege of spending time today with the 5th grade Gateway class at Cloverleaf Elementary, and I’ll tell you, those kids are sharp. They asked better questions than most adults!

The Gateway students are learning about investigations and forensics, so we brought a few of the tools we use in the field to help them see firsthand how the job gets done.

It’s probably no surprise that the drones and K-9 Odin were the crowd favorites!

Thanks for having us!

Years may pass, but the bond never changes. Once EMS, always EMS. These are the people who became family in moments most people never see. So thankful for this reunion.

It was nice to have our first three original directors Howard Elrod, Don Starnes (DG), and Larry Owens (Big O). Such great memories….!!!!!!!

Enjoying a wonderful night at the Grand Theater with my best friend 🎶✨

We’re soaking in an incredible live performance by a talented James Taylor tribute singer — all the classics, all the vibes, and all the memories.

Nothing better than great music and even better company 💛🎸

We were glad to host visitors from Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Economic Development Department today to take a look at our W.R.A.P. program and hear directly from the men involved.

I’m proud of the way our guys represented themselves and the work they’re putting in. When agencies come together to share ideas and what’s working, it strengthens all of us!

I left before photos but it was nice to meet y’all.
Thank you Niki, Renee, and Jason for making the trip!

Yesterday, I was proud to help celebrate the launch of The New Frontier’s Next Gen mentoring pilot at Cartersville High School.

This program will focus on mentoring young men and boys, investing in leadership, education, and positive futures right here in Bartow County.

Strong mentors build strong communities.

Over the past 24 hours, I’ve been made aware of some comments circulating online about me and my family.

I’ve served Bartow County for over 30 years — not for recognition, but because this community is my home. This is the community where I was raised and where my wife and I have raised our children and where my daughters are raising their children. I’ve dedicated my career to protecting the people of this county with integrity and respect.

I understand that campaigns can bring strong opinions, but I will not engage in personal attacks or respond to anonymous accusations.

What I will do is continue to stand on my record, my service, and my commitment to this community.

If anyone ever has a question about my character or my work, I welcome that conversation, openly and honestly.

Bartow County deserves leadership that stays focused on what matters most: safety, trust, and doing the job the right way.

From Bartow. For Bartow.
