Veterans Day is on November 11! Honor a family member, friend, or neighbor who has served in our armed forces by submitting an application to our Basehor Salutes Banner Program! 🪖

This program was created to honor veterans and active-duty military personnel by displaying a banner recognizing the service member along the light poles on 155th Street, and now, around the Civic Campus Pond.

Even considering the added light poles around the pond, space is still limited. Be sure to submit your applications ASAP, as banners will be hung on a first come, first served basis to eligible applicants. If our banner capacity is reached, we will defer to our priority system detailed on our website. Last year's applicants are not required to resubmit for this year.

Deadline to submit is Friday, September 4.

Our Candlelight Concert ft. The B2wins is THIS THURSDAY! 🎻🔥
We are trying our best to get the word out to everyone to join us at the Basehor Civic Campus (1600 N. 158th St, Basehor,KS 66007) at 6pm on September 3rd!

Although we love fun and silly videos, we take talking budget very seriously! 💁🏻‍♀️

We’re excited to share that the City Council has officially approved the 2027 budget, which includes no increase to the City’s property tax (mill) rate.🥳

As part of our continued effort to provide meaningful value to our community, the City is introducing a Property Tax Rebate Program called Basehor's Back to You! This program is for owner-occupied residential properties in good standing with the City (no open code violations and no delinquent fees). This program has no age restrictions or income restrictions. Eligible applicants will receive a rebate of City taxes beyond a 3% increase. New construction less than 18 months old is not eligible. It is important to note that 23% of your property taxes go to the City for City services, and the remaining 77% is sent to other taxing jurisdictions. 💸

Existing property owners will receive more property tax relief under this program than if the City were to simply reduce its mill rate by the same amount as the property tax rebate program. We will release more information about this program in November and December, and the application portal will open in January 2027.
