June 30th 2020 is the 4th Quarterly Board Meeting of the State Board. Due to Social Distancing measures in relation to COVID-19 the meeting is being held for Board Members as a Zoom meeting. Three family members have been charged in the killing of a security guard who told a customer at a Michigan Family Dollar store to wear a state-mandated face mask, officials said on Monday.
The Board is granting extensions on expiring or expired firearms certifications through April 30th 2020. Many firing ranges are in fact open, allowing for re-certification of security officer firearms. We recently attended courses at two locations where social distancing is being used to assure COVID-19 mitigation. It was appropriate and effective. Effective immediately, the State Board will only accept on-site visitation from USPS, USP, FedEx and DHL carriers. Other members of the public or industry will not be allowed into the offices at least until April 1st, 2020 in an effort to stem the proliferation of COVID-19.
