I’ve gotten asked by parents what is there to do this summer. Camps? Social events? Programs? Currently, I’m trying to secure once-a-month social events for June, July, and August for UD. However, I’m open to sharing what other groups are doing or offer this summer.

Here’s another special needs camp option in the local BR area this summer. Camp Sunshine by BREC. It accepts both kids and adults. Details are in the shared post.

☀️ Camp Sunshine! ☀️

Are you looking for an inclusive, high-energy, and supportive summer experience for your child or young adult? This week, we are highlighting BREC’s Camp Sunshine, a specially designed summer program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

🏃‍♂️ Active Play: Recreational games, water activities, and inclusive sports.

To those who attended yesterday’s bingo event, please provide some feedback. This includes how we can improve, what was the funnest; most unique; yours as a caregiver/parent and your teen/adult. Did the prizes satisfy? If there are any direct concerns or prize issues, contact Laura Tate directly. Now I rest and recharge. Any ideas for the summer? Let me know.

Today is the first Neuro Bingo in Denham Springs and one of my first solo group events (other than a church, there’s no specialized nonprofit around). I need confidence and luck!

My last pickup for a bingo prize. Their motto: You craft it. We blast it! (LIT Pizza). I’ve been a LIT fan from the beginning. The same with Izzo’s (both are a part of Go Eat Concepts). This particular Lit has been around for a lot of ideas my brain “crafts”. Venture to the site and I bet that idea becomes “blasted” and into something concrete. This community bingo in two days is one example. I visit it weekly or every other week. Usually. … Thank you to manager Garvin “Ethan” Pittman and the team at Lit Pizza on Highland/Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge for your bingo prize!

Another bingo prize donation... a surprise offer. Last week, I wrote some emails on a different whim. This afternoon a reply to one shows up. Thanks to the LSU Rural Life Museum!

This is a shout out for caregivers and those who do drive. After all those doctors appointments, and all that time stuck in traffic, all those trips, the outside of your car looks like a mud ball and the inside of your car smells like rotten milk. Look no further thanks to Benny’s Car Wash, a car wash membership. Also gets you two free car washes per day, fuel discounts, and discounts on oil changes. Hopefully your car eventually will be smelling and looking a lot cleaner.
