The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge was created in 1946 as a political subdivision of the state of Louisiana to serve the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish. BREC - a representative name of who we serve and what we do - has developed, maintained, and operated public park and recreational facilities for over 70 years. BREC was among the first park agencies to earn

national accreditation and recently earned reaccreditation for an unprecedented fifth time, meeting all 144 standards. BREC is a three-time National Gold Medal Award winner and 17-time national finalist.

Join us this evening for the City Park Master Plan Public Meeting and learn about the vision and possibilities being considered for one of Baton Rouge's most beloved parks.

The meeting will begin with a presentation overview of the planning process, recommended concepts being explored, and more. Then, attendees will have the opportunity to move throughout the room at their own pace, viewing detailed exhibits and speaking directly with the design and planning teams.

Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts by placing stickers on display boards to identify their preferred features and priorities. Your feedback will help guide the next phase of the master planning process.

We hope you can join us to explore the options and help create a park that reflects the needs and vision of our community.
