The fence is now up around the playground expansion created through the Leadership Bay County Class of 2026 project! Designed for children ages 0–3, the new play area adds another welcoming, accessible space for families to enjoy in Downtown Bay City.

We’ve loved seeing this project come to life and are excited to see it become part of the Wenonah Park experience!

The finishing touches are underway at the new Wenonah Park playground! Shaw Contracting has leveled the surrounding ground and installed hydroseed to help complete the space.

That’s a wrap!

Leadership Bay County spent day 2 installing the remaining border and spreading mulch throughout the playground. A huge thank you is due to the City of Bay City for helping us to move our mulch!

This project is coming to a close, but we can’t wait to celebrate it with you at our upcoming Ribbon Cutting on August 6, followed by a fun night of celebration at Drydock! See you there!

All pieces of equipment have been installed, concrete foundations poured, mulch spreading began.

A huge thank you to the City of Bay City Government, Sinclair Recreation and Recreational Builders Inc. for their support of our first day of installation!

Thank you to Vinny's Pizzeria- Bay City, MI for a delicious, donated lunch and to the United Way of Bay County for supplying us with endless water and snacks.
