○By state law the Party Secretary is to call a meeting to elect a replacement County Chairman. Tx Election Code 171.25(a)

○Only current seated Precinct Chairs may speak and only current seated Precinct Chairss may vote

○This meeting is a ONE item (elect a county chair) meeting, nothing else may be discussed.

○This meeting, as all MCRP meetings (except those in Executive Sessions) MAY BE RECORDED. Texas Republican Party rules: Rule 14-Open Meeting

Public Statement issued by MCRP Secretary Jessica Duhon

We wish to make the voters of Matagorda County aware that Mr. Craig Evans tendered his resignation as County Chairman and will no longer serve as the County Chairman for the Matagorda County Republican Party.

We wish him all the best in his next chapter.

The CEC will work together in accordance with Texas Election Code, RPT guidelines and our own bylaws in moving forward to appoint a new County Chairman. We ask for your support during this transition.

In the meantime, we will continue to operate with fidelity in our duty to help our Republican candidates all the way up the ballot win in the November general election.
