So I have been told that there is little about me on social media about why I am running for City Council. To assist in that endeavor hear is a little about me:
Cory Mccray is a dedicated leader with over a decade of experience as Chief Operating Officer at Vibrance Health, where their leadership has been instrumental in driving the company’s exponential growth since joining in 2013. Specializing in emergency management and facilities operations, Cory has played a key role in shaping Vibrance Health into a thriving organization. During his tenure Vibrance has expanded to 6 sites and a pharmacy in Wharton County. Future plans are to establish a pharmacy and imaging locations in Bay City. These are tangible services for the community.
As a proud member of Bay City Lions Club, Cory has displayed his willingness to serve and create tangible results. Cory is currently the Scholarship Committee Chair and Co-chairman for the 2026 Rice Festival. He recently had the privilege to award $23,000 in scholarships for students and Bay City High School. Working along other Lions he plans to make this Rice Festival special.
Cory is the Board Chairman of the Bay City Main Street Program where they assist local businesses improve their advertising through grant funding. This has been instrumental in improving overall presence and structure.
Cory is also a Board member for the Bay City Chamber of Commerce where he supports and encourages the cultural and civic activities that improve or expand the quality of life in Bay City.
As a resident of Bay City since 2013, Cory has developed a deep understanding of the community's needs and aspirations. As a candidate for City Council, Cory is passionate about fostering safe, thriving communities and ensuring that local government operates with transparency and accountability. Cory believes that open communication and accessible decision-making are essential to building trust and empowering residents to have a voice in shaping their community’s future.
Cory is married to Dr. Ladonna Rutledge, and they have two wonderful daughters, Brea and Kayla. Together, their family shares a deep commitment to serving the community. Whether advocating for public safety, economic growth, or increased transparency, Cory is ready to represent and uplift every resident
