Rounding out an excellent May 28th Coffee Hour were Veterans Doug Keller, Kevin Hurley and Jim Kusmierz.

Doug, a creative genius, shared his knowledge about Bay City's Fire Station No. 2 and displayed several models he built depicting the firehouse currently under renovation on Soutg Washington, a new home for part of Jimmy Dobson's extensive fire memorabilia.

Kevin showed a swan he carved at the Workshop and invited the group to Thursday's open carving class from 5 to 7 pm.

Jim, a graphic and caricature artist, demonstrated some of his work and described his business of interviewing and drawing pictures of Veterans.

Presenters at the BVF May 28th Coffee Hour also included Adrianne Cole with the Bay-Arenac ISD who provided an interesting overview of Artificial Intelligence. Andrew Turner, VSO and emergency services coordinator for Bay County's Department of Veterans Affairs offered information on new services.

Veteran John Latimer and Matt LaBeau, founder of The 4 Aces Fellowship Club, described a new social club available for recovering substance abusers. Located at 321 Farragut, Matt can be reached at 989 402-8111.

LaShunda Hall, Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist with the Saginaw VA Medical Center, promoted an Employment and Resources Fair to be conducted on June 10th between 11 am and 2 pm at The Bay Vet Center (former Berger's Restaurant) on Bay Road.

Presenters at the BVF Coffee Hour included: Josh Rutledge, Army Veteran who represents a new VA initiative called Safeguard Veterans. This is a pilot research program funded by the Offuce of Su***de Prevention to test whether bundling evidenced-based interventions across clinical and community settings can reduce barriers to access.
Renee Henry, owner/operator of Sisterly Love Transitional Housing, Saginaw described her effort to provide affordable housing for women.
Maggie Schaller and Addie Palumbo spoke of The Dow Championship Tournament hosted at the Midland Country Club June 8 through June 15. This tournament showcases top LPGA golfers from around the world.

Bay Veterans Foundation hosted another successful Coffee Hour on May 28th at the Bay Area Veterans Workshop and Learning Center. Ashton Hero, Veteran Navigator with the Saginaw County Behavioral Health Authority, discussed his work in the Great Lakes Region helping Veterans with employment, housing, food, and other challenges they may face.
