Join Bayard Public Library for a Paint Party on Saturday, May 30 at 11 am - 2 pm! Local artist, AnneLiese Nachman will lead participants in a still life painting!

The subject matter will be Mexican pastries, sodas and chile ristas.
There is no cost to participate but registration is required because there are only 15 spots available. A free sandwich lunch and other refreshments will be provided.

Marty will read from Bones in the Back Forty, winner of the 2025 New Mexico Book Award for Cozy Mystery and two Firebird Awards, as well as from her newest novel, Crime on the Coast, released in February 2026.

Bayard Public Library is hosting an Estate Planning Presentation and Power of Attorney Clinic on Thursday, May 21 from 12 - 1 pm and 1 - 3 pm.

Join the Senior Citizens' Law Office, Inc. for this empowering presentation on Estate Planning. Presenter will discuss:
Incapacity planning (Powers of Attorney)
Planning for end of life (Wills, Transfer on Death Deed, Non-Probate Transfers, etc.)

Note: this presentation is general information only, and the presenter will not be able to give individual legal advice.

For the Power of Attorney Clinic, bring current photo ID, and names with contact information of people you will appoint as agents.

Join the Senior Citizens' Law Office, Inc. for this empowering Power of Attorney Clinic.

Attorneys will guide attendees through completing Powers of Attorney for both Healthcare and Finances.

Our 2nd Annual Bayard Earth Day Celebration was a huge success! We had 40+ volunteers who helped clean up the area around the Community Center and many who stayed for the fellowship over dinner. We want to thank our organizing partners Frontier Food Hub , New Mexico Wilderness Alliance , and Heart of the Gila. I would like to thank our sponsors Safe Space Tree Care and Bayard -Pride Beautification Committee. I would like to thank the organizations who tabled and provided information and activities which are NM Wild, Silver City Watershed Keepers, and Tree New Mexico. Here are some photos from the event. 🌍 Celebrate Earth Day in Bayard! 🌍

Join us on Wednesday, April 22 from 4–7:30 PM for the Bayard Earth Day Celebration at the Bayard Community Center! This free, family‑friendly event is a wonderful way to care for our planet while enjoying hands‑on activities, community fellowship, and a shared meal.

🧹 Trash Clean‑Up: 4–6 PM
Participants are encouraged to wear closed‑toe shoes, bring a reusable water bottle, and invite friends and family to join in!

🎨 Crafts & Activity Booths: 4–7 PM
🍽 Free Community Dinner: 6–7:30 PM

This is our 2nd annual Earth Day celebration, and we are incredibly grateful to the partners who help make it possible. 🌱
