Been meaning to share this. Last week at the District Convention, our current president Jack Fearneyhough and our current secretary, Marti Fearneyhough both received Amador Awards!

Given by the Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation (KNRF), this award recognizes individuals for outstanding service in their community!

Last week at our meeting, the Beardstown High School Key Club joined us! We presented them with their graduation medallions, and awarded four students with scholarships for their outstanding work!

Reminder that Kiwanis Rose day is tomorrow!!! Our club, and Kiwanis Club of Brown County, Illinois prepared 522 DOSEN roses today! Come by 4 All Seasons tomorrow, between 9am and 5pm to buy some, or pick your dozen up. Don’t forget your ticket!

Today at our meeting, our club had the honor of presenting BCA with a donation towards new cheerleader outfits! The leaders of the Cheerleading Squad spoke with us, and explained how grateful the girls were to have their much-needed replacements!

Monday at our meeting, we had the privilege of hearing from Tim Bass, who is in the running to serve as Circuit Judge in the Illinois 8th Judicial Circuit Court.

At a recent Kiwanis Club of Beardstown, club President Jack Fearneyhough presented Rich Eckert with a check for $1,000 as part of the sponsorship of the Cass County CEO program. Rich is a coordinator for the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) for the county. CEO is a program for Juniors and Seniors in Cass County to enhance their business knowledge and skills.

The CEO students create a business, model it, and then implement their plan. The program also enhances their skill sets in working with other businesses, corporations and individuals. Many of the participants have already implemented their small business within the community. Students from Beardstown, Virginia and Ashland are enrolled in the program.

This is the first year for the CEO program. It is made possible with sponsorships like that from the Kiwanis Club, county businesses and individuals. Further support of the unique educational opportunity is through the Tracy Family Foundation.

The Kiwanis moto is "serving the children of the World". They have a lunch meeting at the Elk's Club on Mondays and you are invited to come discover a great way to do community service.
