Mayor Kenya Johns

Community, I want to share the attached police update regarding the October 20 incident near McDonald's. Thankfully, no one was injured. Police have taken an individual into custody and filed charges, with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police and New Brighton Police. A special thank you to our neighbors and their swift action in responding.

I also want to speak from my heart. Learning about a frightening situation through social media before you know what happened or whether someone you care about is safe is one of the worst feelings in the world. The uncertainty, the fear, and the helplessness are difficult to describe and I pray no one else has to experience that feeling as it was one of the worst feelings in the world for myself and my family.

Please remember that behind every post, photograph, and comment are real people with families and loved ones. Even when no one is physically hurt, the fear people experience deserves compassion.

Please be good humans. Resist the urge to speculate, assign blame, or share information that has not been verified. Give investigators room to do their work, and let kindness guide how we speak to and about one another.

Thank you to the responding officers and everyone working to keep our communities safe. Let’s look out for each other with care, patience, and humanity. And hopefully we never experience this again ❤️

This really melts my heart and is a reminder to us all about who we are as Beaver Countians. We might be separated by bridges, mascots or zip codes; but, at the end of the day, we are all in this together. Neighbors connected to one another trying to make this community a better place.

What a proud and great community. We are greater as an United Beaver County!

Only just across the bridge from each other… twice the noise!!!🩶🖤❤️ Ambridge & Aliquippa cheerleaders together under the lights!🏈📣 All our athletes brought their spirit this week!!!!
