The purpose of the Harford County Commission on Veterans Affairs is: 1. To establish a forum for all Harford County veterans of military services, without regard to race, creed, gender, organizational affiliation, political or economic status 2. To maintain coordinated communication with county and local governments, businesses, and veterans of the county 3. To provide assistance, guidance, and information to the business and academic communities and the government to ensure adequate consideration of veterans in employment, education, training, and public programs

LOCATION: Perry Point VA Medical Center - Gymnasium and Theater, Building 314, Perry Point, MD 21902

The VA Maryland Health Care System is holding an Information Fair, Navig*tion Seminar and Town Hall in the Gymnasium and Theater at the Perry Point VA Medical Center on Saturday, December 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you served in the armed forces and received an honorable discharge, you may qualify for health care benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. During the Information Fair, VA staff members will be available to answer questions about VA health eligibility and enrollment, accept enrollment applications for VA health care, or guide Veterans in completing their application. Veterans and their family members can also visit information tables to learn about available VA health care services and compensation benefits.

During the Navig*tion Seminar and Town Hall, Veterans and their family members will learn about the VA Maryland Health Care System, the process for scheduling appointments and ordering prescription refills, and will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments about their VA health care services.

Veterans interested in applying for VA health care must bring a photo ID and financial information from the previous year. Veterans are encouraged to bring a copy of their discharge papers (Form DD-214), but it is not required to apply for enrollment.

For more information about this free event for Veterans, please call the Community Outreach Office for the VA Maryland Health Care System at 1-800-949-1003, ext. 6071.
